What Not to Feed Your Dog


Animal Fat and Fried Foods, Sugar, Sodium (salt) – pancreatitis, just unhealthy, Duh!

Alcohol and Hops – Duh!

Avocados – (Guatemalan variety) contains Persin (toxicity symptoms)

Baking Soda/powder – electrolyte imbalance, muscle spasm, congestive heart failure

Bones – splinter causing lacerations and obstructions

Broccoli – toxic in large amounts

Caffeine – methylxanthines (toxicity symptoms)

Cat Food – pancreatitis

Chocolate – (toxicity symptoms)

Dairy products & Milk – cause gas and diarrhea, small qty’s okay

Fruit PITS and Seeds – pits and seeds contain cyanide (TOXIC)

Garlic, Onions, Chives – sulfoxides/disulfides damage red blood cells, anemia, (TOXIC)

Grapes and Raisens – kidney failure, very TOXIC

Liver – Too high in iron and Vitamin A (TOXIC)

Mushrooms – only safe mushrooms are shitaki, maitake, reishi

Macadamia Nuts and Walnuts – TOXIC (Peanut Butter okay)

Green Potatoes – solanine toxicity, cooked potatoes are safe and nutritious (okay)

Raw Dough containing Yeast – stomach/intestinal rupture

Rhubarb – oxalates
